"The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 'Come, go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words.'  So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel.  The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him."    Jeremiah 18:1-4

How do you describe a congregation in motion?  Parkway is a multi-generational community with different and constantly changing moving parts.  We are a congregation that has the traditional church elements you might expect from a congregation that has been in existence for over one hundred years.  Yet, who we are at any given moment depends on the people God has led here and the gifts given towards our common ministry.  At Parkway, we believe we are a puzzle that is being defined by the particular puzzle pieces rather than a puzzle which is defining what the pieces should be.
At Parkway...
...it's not about "right" beliefs, but about how well your faith is lived out
...grace is free and is how God's love is to be expressed by God's people
...sin is not a weapon, but is to be confessed as we seek the peace of God's forgiveness in Christ Jesus
... we take seriously the teachings to love our enemies, care for the least, love our neighbors as ourselves
...we recognize that people's faith journeys are different, but that as a community we journey together
...community is important and we build our relationships by working, worshiping and learning together
...authenticity of faith is better than doing what is trendy or popular in the moment
...all are called and all have purpose

..."For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God - not the result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are what God has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life."    Ephesians 2:8-10
